Tori Beeche
Tori Beeche (b. 1972, Aotearoa) lives and works in Tāhuna, Queenstown. She has a Master of Fine Art (First Class Honours)from the University of Auckland’s Elam School of Fine Arts (2020). Her work has been included in the finalist exhibitions of the National Contemporary Art Awards (2023), the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award (2021), New Zealand Painting & Printmaking Award (2020), and the Sunshine Coast Art Prize (2018). Recent exhibitions include DREAM BIRD at Föenander Galleries, Auckland (2024); OUTERBODY, Page Galleries, Wellington (2023); SUBERBIA, MOTHERMOTHER at Northart, Auckland (2023). Tori’s paintings emerge through a process of extracting poetic moments from historical image archives interwoven with her personal memories and imaginings. Often reflecting her Scandinavian heritage, the works are imbued with a nostalgic longing.
The inaugural edition of TENT will feature live exhibitions across the country and also online, and will take place from Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 November across New Zealand.
