Layla Rudneva-Mackay’s recent work explores ideas around women’s bodies, motherhood, home, and care. Her practice investigates the need to articulate and explore ideas, thoughts, and feelings that she finds difficult to express in language.
Layla Rudneva-Mackay currently lives and works in Auckland and completed a master of fine arts at Elam School of Art in 2007. She has exhibited works widely throughout New Zealand in artist-run spaces, private galleries as well as public art institutions. Her work is held in major public and private collections in New Zealand and Australia.
